Detroit's Ford Fireworks Among Best Firework Shows In Nation: Ranking

DETROIT — Downtown Detroit's fireworks show is among the best firework shows in the nation, according to USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.

The outlet's voter's poll ranked the annual summertime show as No. 2 out of 20, though there's still time to vote. Voters have until 11:59 a.m. on May 13 to vote. Click here to vote.

"The Ford Fireworks show in Detroit is so big that it takes not one, not two, but a total three barges to hold the pyrotechnics. In addition to the colorful display exploding above the Detroit River, spectators can enjoy live music and plenty of food and drinks," the outlet said of the Ford Fireworks show.

As of Tuesday, only the fireworks show at the Navy Pier in Chicago was ahead of Detroit. The Concert in the Sky at the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison, Kansas was in third place, with a Minnesota show in fourth and a Texas show in fifth.

The summer's Ford Fireworks show in Downtown Detroit is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Monday, June 24.
