Detroit's Street Art Ranks Among Best In Country, U.S.A. Today Says
Hundreds of local artists have been painting murals throughout the city over the years, giving Detroit a sense of revitalization.
DETROIT — Detroit has some of the best street art in the entire country, according to USA Today’s 2024 list of the 10 U.S. Cities With The Best Street Art Collections.
The outlet ranked Detroit at no. 5, ahead of other prominent cities, including New York City, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Miami and Portland.
Only Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Richmond and Cincinnati were ranked ahead of Detroit in the ranking.

"You don’t have to leave your car to take in works of art in Motor City," wrote USA Today of its ranking. "Detroit’s Grand River Creative Corridor stands out as a highlight with nearly 100 murals between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Warren Avenue. Ride the Detroit People Mover on its 2.9-mile loop to take in the Art in the Stations’ collection of 13 mixed-media displays."
Hundreds of local artists have been painting murals throughout the city over the years, turning unrecognizable stretches of land into tourist attractions. Some of the best murals grace downtown, Eastern Market, southwest Detroit and the Grand River corridor, giving Detroit a better understating and a sense of revitalization.
