Discover Michigan’s Parks With This New Mobile App

Looking for a place to take in mother nature this spring or summer? Check out this new interactive map featuring thousands of local parks.

DETROIT, MI — The weather is breaking and more and more, Michiganders will be spending their time outdoors. Now a new app allows locals to browse thousands of parks across seven counties in the region. SEMCOG has launched the Southeast Michigan ParkFinder, a mobile app that allows users to search for recreation opportunities in more than 2,600 parks across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Monroe, Washtenaw and St. Clair Counties.

The interactive map features everything from neighborhood playgrounds to state and national parks. Users can search within an area, for specific amenities like swimming or nature trails, by seasonal activities or by park type.
