DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is offering a chance at tickets to two of its neighborhood concert performances Thursday and Friday, June 22-June 23. To enter to win a free pair of tickets, simply sign up for one or more of our free Patch newsletters on the form below.

The concert is “Haydn’s True Miracle.” Originally incorrectly attributed to his 96th symphony, Haydn’s true "Miracle" symphony received its nickname after a chandelier fell from the ceiling during the piece’s premiere. Miraculously, no one was injured and the work was performed without incident.

Paul Watkins is the guest conductor, and Lelia Josefowicz is featured on violin. The program includes Haydn – Symphony No. 102, Stravinsky – Violin Concerto and Schumann – Symphony No. 3.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek; and at 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, at the Macomb County Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township.
