Ex-Detroit Lions Linebacker Dies At 25, Team Says

Former Detroit Lions​ linebacker Jessie Lemonier​ died at the age of 25, the team confirmed Thursday.​

Lemonier​ played for the Lions during the 2021 season, recording 15 tackles, eight solo tackles and 1.5 sacks​ in seven games. He was released from the team during last year's training camp.

DETROIT — Former Detroit Lions linebacker Jessie Lemonier died at the age of 25, the team confirmed Thursday.

The Lions organization did not release any details surrounding Lemonier's death.

"We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier," the team said. "Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."

Lemonier played for the Lions during the 2021 season, recording 15 tackles, eight solo tackles and 1.5 sacks in seven games. He was released from the team during last year's training camp.

Lemonier originally signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 as a free agent after going undrafted coming out of Liberty. He played in six games, recording two tackles for the Chargers.
