Fire Destroys Popular Midtown Detroit Restaurant: Officials

Officials said the Traffic Jam and Snug Restaurant on Canfield Avenue, between Cass Avenue and Second Street caught fire around 2 a.m.

DETROIT — A popular restaurant in Midtown Detroit was destroyed Friday morning in an overnight fire, officials said.

The Traffic Jam and Snug Restaurant on Canfield Avenue, between Cass Avenue and Second Street caught fire around 2 a.m., officials said.

Officials did not report any injuries and said no one was inside the restaurant when the blaze erupted.

Although the restaurant was a total loss, except for a small section in the back, its nearby businesses were not touched by the fire, officials said.
