Former WNBA All-Star and two-time champion with the Detroit Shock Kara Braxton died Sunday after a car crash, according to reports.

Former WNBA All-Star and two-time champion with the Detroit Shock Kara Braxton died Sunday after a car crash in Georgia, according to a USA Today Sports report.
Investigators said Braxton was driving a blue 2023 Ford Mustang Mach E northbound on Interstate 285 in Cobb County on Saturday when she "failed to maintain her lane" and "collided with the concrete median wall," riding against it until the car came to a rest on the left shoulder, according to the report.
Braxton was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, where she died Sunday, police said.

Braxton, who was 43, was a resident of College Park, Georgia, but she was raised in Jackson, Michigan along with her five siblings.
She was drafted by the Shock in April 2005 and played for the team in their final five seasons in Detroit (2005-2009). She was named an All-Star in 2007, also played for the Tulsa Shock (2010), the Phoenix Mercury (2010-2011) and the New York Liberty (2011-2014).

The WNBA announced Braxton had died on social media on Sunday.
"It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of 2x WNBA Champion Kara Braxton. A 10-season veteran, Kara played with the Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury, and New York Liberty. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and former teammates at this time," the WNBA said.
The Detroit Pistons held a moment of silence for Braxton before their Monday night game against the San Antonio Spurs.
