Michigan's Woody The Woodchuck​ Makes Her Prediction

HOWELL, MI — While Punxsutawney Phil predicts six more weeks of winter, Michigan's Woody the Woodchuck says we'll see an early spring.

Michigan’s own seasonal predictor made her 25th annual prediction at the Howell Nature Center Thursday morning.

Woody crept out of her hut early Thursday morning, gave the ground a few sniffs and ventured out a little further as the live audience silently began to cheer.

A few moments later, it was clear Woody says an early spring is coming to Michigan.

If Woody had seen her shadow and run back into her hut before the 15-second time limit, then it would have been six weeks more winter.
