Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Metro Detroit
In addition to another 1 to 2 inches of snow Thursday in metro Detroit, temperatures will plummet as arctic air moves in.
METRO DETROIT — Following Wednesday's winter storm that dumped 6 inches of snow at Detroit Metro Airport, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Metro Detroit as 1 to 2 inches of new snow is expected on Thursday with temperatures dropping.
Although the winter storm warning expired earlier than anticipated, the National Weather Serviced warned of hazardous road conditions with many highways and byways covered in snow and ice.
In addition to the slippery road conditions, snow showers will return Thursday morning and continue throughout the day, in which another 1 to 2 inches of new snow is expected by Thursday night. Higher snowfall accumulations of around 3 inches or more is expected closer to the Michigan/Ohio border, the National Weather Service said.

In addition to the snow, arctic air moves in Thursday, keeping the day cold with temperatures dropping throughout the day toward the evening. Consistent winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 28 mph will push temperatures into the the single digits and below zero at times, the National Weather Service warned.
Friday will remain cold with highs that barley reach 20 degrees and consistent wind chills keeping temperatures in the single digits or below zero as the arctic air settles in. However, Friday remains dry, expect for a clipper system that could produce light snow showers in metro Detroit with little to no accumulation mainly west of Interstate 75.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be just as cold but calm, with dry conditions and little to no wind. However, temperatures will only reach the 20s.
