SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — After tying record-highs Wednesday at 73 degrees across southeastern Michigan, widespread rain showers with thunderstorms will move into the region Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered rain showers will move into southeastern Michigan sometime late Thursday morning before more widespread showers with thunderstorms cross the region in the late afternoon and early evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Some of the afternoon/evening storms can be severe with heavy downpours, large hail up to 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The greatest threat for severe weather is south of Interstate 96 during the late afternoon hours when temperatures hit the mid 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
