Home Invader Shot With Crossbow In Metro Detroit: Police

Investigators do not believe the incident was random, as the home invasion stemmed from a prior altercation.

MONROE COUNTY, MI — A Monroe County homeowner shot a suspected home invader with a crossbow early Tuesday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Police said a 41-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Newport, broke into a home in the 4500 block of Huron in Frenchtown Township just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The homeowner then shot the younger man with a crossbow, sending both men running from the home, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers found the 32-year-old man nearby suffering from a crossbow wound and took him to a nearby hospital where he was being treated for his injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

The 41-year-old man was also found nearby and arrested in connection with the home invasion, according to the sheriff's office.

He was placed in the Monroe County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.
