Host Bringing New Concept To Detroit's Restaurant Scene
The restaurant's menu will be created specifically for the Detroit market.

DETROIT — Host, a popular and trendy restaurant, is planning to open its newest location in Detroit.
The new restaurant is set to open sometime in early 2027 at the Chroma Building, located at 2937 E. Grand Boulevard in New Center Detroit.
It will occupy a 4,000-foot space, making it the largest Host in the metro Detroit area. Host also has locations in Romeo and Utica.

"Detroit has always been an important part of the story we’re building with Host, and opening our third location in the city where I first launched the Stockyard food truck and pop-up dinner series with a high school buddy over a decade ago, feels like a full circle moment and a really exciting next chapter," Host Owner Michael Ivkov said. "We’ve learned so much from our guests in Utica and Romeo, and we’re taking those experiences with us while creating something that feels distinctly Detroit and distinctly Host."
Each Host offers a unique concept with a chef-driven menu. For example, its Utica location, which opened in fall 2022, serves brunch daily alongside coffee service, lunch, dinner, wood-fired pizzas and cocktails. It also has an upstairs space for coworking, private events, and food and beverage classes.

Romeo's Host, which opened earlier this year, is a more intimate space along Main Street. The restaurant features a seasonal menu with a rotating selection of peak ingredient dishes, curated by Chef Jessica Phillips.
"Host’s vision to be a launching pad for chef-driven restaurants in metro Detroit is fully realized in Romeo, with local talent Chef Jessica Phillips taking the helm permanently," Ivkov said.
The Detroit location will share the visual identity of its sibling restaurants, but it will have its own culinary program created specifically for the Detroit market.
"Each Host location has its own identity," Ivkov said. "Detroit gives us the opportunity to take everything we love about Host — the food, the atmosphere and the way we bring people together — and expand on it in a really meaningful way."
More details about the restaurant's first chef, menu and opening date are expected in the coming months.
