'I'm Speaking': Harris Shuts Down Pro-Palestinian Hecklers At Detroit Area Rally
Vice President Kamala Harris stared down a group of hecklers who tried interrupting her while she was speaking at a rally Wednesday night.

DETROIT — A group of pro-Palestinian hecklers tried interrupting Vice President Kamala Harris Wednesday night as she was speaking at a rally inside a hangar at Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus.
The hecklers were heard yelling "genocide" while Harris was attacking Project 2025, which is a very detailed plan for the next Republican president to drastically remake the executive branch.
"I'm here because we believe in democracy. Everyone's voice matters, but I am speaking now," Harris said while smiling.

The crowd also cheered and tried phasing out the hecklers with louder "we're not going back" chants, but the hecklers continued while Harris was speaking.
"You know what, if you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I'm speaking," Harris said while glaring at the protestors.

Officials escorted the protesters from the hanger after that.
Some, especially among Michigan's large Arab-American and Muslim communities, have criticized President Joe Biden's administration for its response to Israel's counteroffensive in the war in Gaza after the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks.
Some groups, such as the Uncommitted National Movement, have called on the administration for an arms embargo on Israel and a ceasefire in Gaza. But the administration cites Israel as a key ally and believes the country has a right to defend itself.
Before Wednesday's rally, Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz met briefly with leaders of the Uncommitted National Movement. The group led more than 100,000 people to vote "uncommitted" in Michigan's Democratic presidential primary in February in protest of the fighting.
