Lions QB Goff, 2 Others Placed On Reserve/COVID-19 List: Report
Offensive lineman Matt Nelson and injured receiver Quintez Cephus were also added to the reserve/COVID list Monday.

DETROIT — Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on Monday, according to multiple reports.
However, Goff is vaccinated against COVID-19, so it's possible he could play in Sunday's games against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Sports Illustrated.
The NFL recently changed its COVID-19 protocols, which allows vaccinated players to return as soon as a day later if the player is asymptomatic and his viral load surpasses a benchmark.

Before the recent rule change, players who tested positive for COVID-19 had to remain in quarantine for a minimum of ten days, except vaccinated players who could return if they provided two negative COVID-19 tests at least 24 hours apart.
Offensive lineman Matt Nelson and injured receiver Quintez Cephus were also added to the reserve/COVID list Monday. The Lions have now lost 13 players in the last 15 days to the COVID-19 list.

Goff played one of his better games of the season in Sunday's upset win over the Arizona Cardinals. He completed 21 of 26 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns, including a 37-yard touchdown pass in the face of pressure to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the second quarter.
If Goff cannot play in Sunday's game, backup quarterback Tim Boyle is expected to be Detroit's quarterback. Boyle stepped in for Goff against the Cleveland Browns, in which the Lions lost 13-10.
Boyle completed 15 of 23 passes for 77 yards with two interceptions in rainy conditions.
