DETROIT — A man was killed in an overnight rollover crash on a Detroit freeway, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 12:55 a.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 96 near the Davison Avenue, according to police.
The 45-year-old man was driving a vehicle on the freeway when he lost control near the Davison Avenue exit, according to police.

The vehicle hit a utility pole on the embankment and rolled over, according to police.
The man was ejected from the vehicle in the crash, according to police.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.
"As we are approaching the summer driving season this crash serves as a reminder to buckle up," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "The roadway was closed for the investigation and has since reopened. Family members of the driver have been notified."
