Police said Wilson was found shot to death inside her SUV on May 13 at a Novi apartment complex after she was kidnapped earlier that day at 7:53 a.m. when leaving her job at the Detroit Receiving Hospital on the 4200 block of St. Antoine St. in Detroit.
Police said Miller was disguised in a wig, hat and glasses, while waiting outside the hospital for Wilson to get into her black 2020 Lincoln Nautilus after work. As Wilson was getting into her SUV, Miller approached her and forced his way into the SUV, pushing Wilson inside, prosecutors said.

Miller then fired a handgun at Wilson multiple times through the back passenger side of the vehicle, killing her, prosecutors said. Officials said Miller then got into the driver's seat and sped away from the hospital.
"Patrice Wilson, by all accounts, was a hard working woman, great mother, great family person and well respected in her job as a nurse at the Detroit Medical Center," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said at the time of Miller’s arraignment in June. "She was simply trying to live her life, work hard and break off a relationship that she knew was not good for her."
