Man Shot, Injured By Police On Belle Isle During Arrest Attempt: MSP
Officers shot a man who was wanted for absconding Monday morning on Belle Isle in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.
DETROIT — Officers shot a man who was wanted for absconding Monday morning on Belle Isle in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.
The man, whom officials did not immediately identify, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in serious condition, according to police.
There were no injuries to officers or the public in the shooting, according to police.

Officials with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy went to Belle Isle at 10:40 a.m. to try and arrest a man who was wanted for absconding, according to police.
When officials tried to make the arrest, a shot was fired and struck the man, according to police.
