McDonald’s Make Donations to Detroit High Schools

Support shown for Martin Luther King and Osborn High Schools at recent basketball game

DETROIT, Mich.-A team from Detroit’s local McDonald’s restaurants visited the boys basketball game at Martin Luther King High School recently to present a donation to support the schools’ athletic programs. Before the start of the game between MLK High School and Detroit Osborn, a total of $300 was donated to the two schools athletic programs on behalf of local Mcdonald’s Owner/Operators Errol Service and Vasant Chapatwala.

In addition to the donation, McDonald’s also shared information about the benefits of a job for young people at the local restaurant, including the Archways to Opportunity education access program that offers tuition assistance to pursue college degrees.

“A big part of our commitment to being America’s Best First Job is to provide access to education that can help people realize their dreams,” said Errol Service, Owner/Operator of the McDonald’s at 14271 Gratiot Avenue. “Archways to Opportunity is just one aspect of what a job at McDonald’s can offer to employees. When you pair that with world-class training, flexible schedules, and experience in job and life skills that transcend different areas of work, you can find McDonald’s ‘alumni’ across the country who are successful in other careers. They tell us very positively that what they learned working at McDonald’s prepared them for the work they’re doing now. That’s a very special kind of impact.”
