Meet an “Amazing” With an Extraordinary Volunteering Heart

Marie is a delivery driver, volunteering her time – and gas money – to deliver meals to elderly and homebound individuals.

Marie Devries, at 90, would ordinarily be thought of as the person on the receiving end of her local “Meals-on-Wheels” program, but no! Marie is a delivery driver, volunteering her time – and gas money – to deliver meals to elderly and homebound individuals, something she’s been doing for some 20 years.

A retired nurse, Marie has a long history of service. In addition to raising her seven children and spending time with her 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, Marie volunteers with one of her daughters at Love, Inc., She’s also been a hospice volunteer and volunteered with Christian organizations. She is loved by so many, receiving hugs and smiles in return for her sweetness.

As far as Marie is concerned, there’s nothing she’d rather be doing, and no reason to stop. Wonderful!
