Fourth of July weekend across metro Detroit looks sunny and warm with relatively no rain chances, the National Weather Service said.

METRO DETROIT — After a Friday afternoon cold front passes through the metro Detroit area with scattered rain showers, the skies open up to a sunny and warm holiday weekend across the region, the National Weather Service said.

Any lingering rain showers in the metro Detroit area should dissipate Friday evening, leading to a sunny and warm Saturday with highs in the mid 80s, the National Weather Service said.

Sunday in the metro Detroit area will be a near repeat, except meteorologists expect even more sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures hovering around 80 degrees.

Independence Day in the metro Detroit region looks spectacular with afternoon temperatures slightly warming back up to the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies, the National Weather Service said.

Although rain showers are expected Tuesday morning in the metro Detroit area, meteorologists said there's a chance for showers Monday night.
