Metro Detroit Gas Prices Jump 12 Cents Over Past Week: AAA
The metro Detroit area is among the highest averages for a regular gallon of gas in the state.
METRO DETROIT — Gas prices jumped 12 cents over the past week in the metro Detroit area, according to AAA.
The average price for a regular gallon of gas in the metro Detroit area Monday morning was $3.50, which is roughly 26 cents higher than this time last year, according to AAA.
The metro Detroit area is among the highest averages for gas in the State of Michigan, according to AAA.

Other expensive places for gas in Michigan were Ann Arbor ($3.48) and Lansing ($3.45). The cheapest places for gas in the state were Benton Harbor ($3.35), Traverse City ($3.37) and Grand Rapids ($3.41).
"Rising gas demand and elevated oil prices have contributed to higher prices at the pump," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "If demand remains robust, drivers will likely see pump prices increase through the week."

Gas prices across Michigan also rose seven cents from last week, making for a Monday average at $3.46 per gallon, according to AAA.
