Metro Detroit Snow Friday: What To Know

A messy Friday evening commute is on tap for the Detroit metro area. Here's what to expect.

METRO DETROIT — A storm system brewing in the middle of the country could bring accumulating snow to the Metro Detroit area on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

After a cloudy Thursday with temperatures reaching 40 degrees, decent snow will start moving through the Detroit area during the lunch hour Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Since temperatures will be in the upper 30s Friday, forecasters do not expect the snow to stick to road surfaces, but the moving snow could dump 1 to 3 inches on grassy surfaces by Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
