METRO DETROIT — Michigan's spring snowstorm dumped 2-3 inches of fresh snow across metro Detroit on Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The record for April snowfall was set on May 9, 1923 with 6 inches of fresh snow in the metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.
