Metro Detroit Weather: Cold, Snow Flakes Monday
The light snow flurries could create slippery and difficult driving conditions during Monday's evening commute.
METRO DETROIT — Monday started with temperatures in the low 20s, but steady winds of about 10 mph have kept temperatures near the single digits and low teens. As highs reach the low 30s by Monday afternoon, widespread scattered snow showers are expected throughout metro Detroit, the National Weather Said.
However, little to no accumulation of snow is expected with the late afternoon, early evening snow flurries in the metro Detroit area. Since the light snow flurries are expected to be scattered, not everyone in the metro area will get hit by the light snow. But in areas where the light snow falls, it could create slippery and difficult driving conditions during Monday's evening commute, the National Weather Service said.
Tuesday will be dry with temperatures fairly similar to Monday's, before a slight warm up on Wednesday, in which temperatures will reach the upper 30s. However, Wednesday also brings the next chance for snow showers throughout day in metro Detroit, the National Weather Service.

The snow chances are expected to increase throughout the day toward the late evening and into Thursday morning. Only an inch or less of new snow is expected by the National Weather Service said, but it could be enough to disrupt Thursday's morning commute.
