Metro Detroit Weather: Cooling Temperatures, Possible Thunderstorms
Meteorologists expect a line of thunderstorms to cross through the metro Detroit area between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
METRO DETROIT — A Wednesday afternoon cold front will not only bring cooler temperatures to the metro Detroit area, but also thunderstorm chances, the National Weather Service said.
As Wednesday's high hovers around 80 degrees across the metro Detroit region, meteorologists said they expect a line of thunderstorms to cross through the area between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Any thunderstorm that pops up has the chance to be severe, producing one inch hail and 60 mile per hour wind gusts, the National Weather Service said. However, the greater chance for severe weather will be mostly south of Interstate 94, toward the Ohio border, meteorologists said.

The metro Detroit area cool down will continue into Thursday, as cloudy skies will keep temperatures hovering around 70 degrees, the third straight day with a 10 degree drop-off, the National Weather Service said.
There's also a chance for rain showers Thursday morning, as overnight Wednesday showers could linger into Thursday morning, the National Weather Service said. Meteorologists were not expecting any severe weather Thursday morning.

Sunny skies Friday will push temperatures back up to 75 degrees, making for a pleasant afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Meteorologists also expect mostly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday with temperatures hanging around 70 degrees.
