METRO DETROIT — Temperatures in the metro Detroit area could reach the mid 90s this week with multiple chances for thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
A southwestern heat dome is expected to make its way into the Midwest this week, pushing highs in the metro Detroit area into the mid 90s with real feel temperatures in the low 100s by the week's end, according to the National Weather Service.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the metro Detroit area Monday afternoon when temperatures reach the mid 80s, before drying out Tuesday when highs push 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Severe thunderstorms are possible in the region Wednesday as temperatures reach the low 90s, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters warned the storms can pack heavy rainfall and damaging winds with gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
Thunderstorms will also be possible in the region on Thursday and Friday, which will be the hottest days of the week as highs push the mid-90s with heat indices possibly reaching the low 100s, according to the National Weather Service.

- Limit outdoor activities
- Drink plenty of water
- Wear light clothing
- Wear sunscreen
- Work outdoors early or very late in the day
