Metro Detroit Weather: Record Temperatures During Sunny, Hot Week
A heat advisory was issued for the metro Detroit area on Tuesday as temperatures were expected to break records.
METRO DETROIT — Summer officially started Tuesday with temperatures expected to break records, the National Weather Service said.
A heat advisory was issued from noon until 8 p.m. for the metro Detroit area as meteorologists expect highs to reach 98 degrees under clear skies and slight humidity. The previous record was 96 degrees set in 1933.
A slight Wednesday morning cool front could bring isolated rain showers to the metro Detroit region, but meteorologists said those rain chances remain slim as highs will climb back into the 90s Wednesday afternoon with relatively low humidity.

Cooler air will sweep into the metro Detroit region Thursday morning, making for an afternoon high of 84 degrees with comfortable air under clear skies, the National Weather Service said.
Friday will be hotter as afternoon highs in the metro Detroit area reach 88 degrees, but the comfortable air will stick around, the National Weather Service said.

Muggier air and hotter temperatures return to the metro Detroit area for the weekend, as both Saturday and Sunday were expected to hit 90 degrees with rain chances each day, the National Weather Service said.
