A second wave of rain was expected to roll through Metro Detroit on Monday afternoon, as temperatures near 70 degrees, meteorologists said.
METRO DETROIT — After early Monday morning storms rolled through the metro Detroit area, a second wave of rain showers is expected to sweep across the region Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
As any lingering storms taper off Monday morning around metro Detroit, the region can expect sunny skies with temperatures near 70 degrees, before clouds move during the late afternoon hours, bringing more rain chances, meteorologists said.
While no thunderstorms were expected across the metro Detroit region, a third wave of rain showers could roll through the area late Monday night, the National Weather Service said. Some meteorologists believe the third wave could bring heavier rain showers, making for a possible total of a half inch of rain.

Any spotty overnight rain showers in the metro Detroit area should dissipate Tuesday morning, making for a pleasant spring day. Highs will reach the low 60s under sunny skies Tuesday afternoon, meteorologists said.
The next chance of rain in the metro Detroit area comes Wednesday, where meteorologists believe the bulk of the rain will come down Wednesday afternoon. As temperatures near 70 degrees Wednesday afternoon, metro Detroiters should expect steady rainfall with a possible thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening hours, the National Weather Service said.
