Metro Detroit Weather: More Snow, Strong Winds Return

Up to another inch of snow is possible in some areas throughout metro Detroit Friday night into Saturday morning, meteorologists said.

METRO DETROIT — After a Thursday snowstorm dumped roughly six inches of snow in metro Detroit, up to another inch of snow is possible from scattered snow showers Friday night into Saturday morning, the National Weather Service said.

In addition to more snowfall, strong winds will pick back up late Friday night with consistent winds of 20 to 25 mph and gusts between 40 and 45 mph. The winds are expected to somewhat calm down Saturday, but gusts can still exceed 35 mph, the National Weather Service warned.

The winds will also keep temperatures cold, making Friday night's low hovering around zero degrees. Saturday will also be cold as the highs are only expected to reach the low 20s, but the consistent winds will keep temperatures near zero degrees throughout the day, meteorologists said.
