Metro Detroit Weather: Rain Chances, Mother's Day Forecast
Meteorologists said there's a couple chances of rain before a splendid Mother's Day across metro Detroit.
METRO DETROIT — As temperatures push toward the low 60s after a dry and sunny Thursday morning in the metro Detroit area, clouds will thicken during the afternoon hours, brining rain chances Thursday night, the National Weather Service said.
Thursday night's rain showers in the metro Detroit region will continue overnight and bleed into Friday morning, before a midday break, the National Weather Service said. Depending on when the rain showers dissipate, Friday highs could reach the lower 60s, but meteorologists said the 50s is more likely.
A second round of rain was expected to roll through the metro Detroit area Friday evening, making for a tricky evening commute, the National Weather Service said. Although there could be some rumbles of thunder during the rain showers, meteorologists do not expect any severe weather.

Any lingering showers hanging around the metro Detroit area Saturday morning should evaporate quickly, as skies try to open up Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Depending on the amount of sunshine, highs could reach the 60s Saturday afternoon.
Mother's Day will be filled with lots of sunshine and comfortable temperatures hovering between 65 and 70 degrees across the metro Detroit area, the National Weather Service said. Next week looks even warmer, as temperatures were expected to reach the 80s for consecutive days.
