Meteorologists said there's a good chance the metro Detroit area gets blasted Friday with warmer air that will push temperatures into the low 90s with some humidity.

The thick warmer air, however, was expected to produce scattered thunderstorms across metro Detroit just as a cold-front moves into the area in the late afternoon and evening hours, the National Weather Service said. Any storms that pop up could be strong to severe, meteorologists warned.
