Metro Detroit Weather: Severe Thunderstorms Possible Thursday

METRO DETROIT — Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected to cross the metro Detroit area Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
A line of scattered showers will first cross the metro Detroit area in the early afternoon hours as temperatures push toward 80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists do not expect any severe weather from those early storms, but warned heavy rain and thunder is possible in some spots across the area, according to the National Weather Service.

A second and more intense line of thunderstorms will then cross the area along a cold front in the late afternoon and early evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The whole region was under a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger in the metro Detroit area through the nighttime hours before clearing out of the region Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Here's the National Weather Service's extended look at the metro Detroit area:
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74 degrees. West northwest wind 11 to 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 22 miles per hour.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 80 degrees. West southwest wind 5 to 9 miles per hour.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 88 degrees.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88 degrees.
