Rain/Snow Showers Possible In Metro Detroit Monday

The Metro Detroit area could see the season's first snowflakes this week as temperatures drop to the 40s and low 30s, meteorologists said.

METRO DETROIT — It's not even Halloween yet and the Metro Detroit area could see the season's first snowflakes this week as temperatures plummet to the 40s and low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered rain showers are expected to cross the Metro Detroit area Monday afternoon as highs only reach the mid 40s, according to the National Weather Service. Meteorologists warned the afternoon showers could produce some rumbles of thunder and small hail.

Any lingering rain showers Monday night into Tuesday morning could produce some scattered snow showers with gusty winds reaching up to 25 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. However, meteorologists do not expect any possible snow to stick to roads and surfaces.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 40s on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Metro Detroit area with Tuesday afternoon rain showers expected to bleed over into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday will be the coldest morning of the week in the Metro Detroit area with temperatures starting in the lower 30s before warming back up to the 50s under cloudy, but dry skies, according to the National Weather Service.
