METRO DETROIT — A sweeping warm front will bring warmer temperatures and rain to the metro Detroit area through the holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday's temperatures in the metro Detroit area will reach 40 degrees with a touch of sunshine before a warm front crosses the region Thursday, bringing heavy clouds and several rainmakers, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will get up to 45 degrees Thursday in the metro Detroit area, before rain moves later during the evening and nighttime hours, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect the rain to stick around throughout Friday and Saturday, before eventually breaking apart to scattered showers on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures, however, will hover around 45 degrees all weekend with Friday's peak reaching near 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40 degrees. South southwest wind around 14 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.
Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 45 degrees. South southwest wind 11 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 26 miles per hour. A chance of rain after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 41 degrees. South wind around 10 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Friday: Rain likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 48 degrees. South southwest wind around 11 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 22 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday: Rain likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 43 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
New Year's Day: Cloudy, with a high near 46 degrees.
Monday: Cloudy, with a high near 47 degrees.
