As the warm stretch moves into Saturday, meteorologists predict periods of heavy rain and wind gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour Saturday afternoon in the Metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain showers were expected to fall apart Saturday night in the region, but the strong winds were expected to linger, even bleeding over into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures begin cooling down Sunday with highs dropping to the mid 60s under sunny skies in the region, according to the National Weather Service. The pleasant stretch of weather was expected to continue throughout most of next week, meteorologists said.
