MI Gas Prices Jump More Than 20 Cents: AAA
Gas prices in Michigan and metro Detroit saw a significant jump to start the new year, according to AAA.
MICHIGAN — Gas prices in Michigan and metro Detroit saw a significant jump to start the new year, according to AAA.
The average gas price for a regular gallon of gas across Michigan was $3.21, up 21 cents from just last week, according to AAA.
Gas prices in metro Detroit also saw a significant spike, jumping 18 cents from last week to $3.22, according to AAA.

"Michigan motorists are seeing higher gas prices as they ring in 2023," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "An increase in crude oil prices to close out 2022, along with a busy holiday travel season, have led to higher pump prices."
The most expensive gas prices in Michigan were in Metro Detroit ($3.21), Saginaw ($3.21) and Ann Arbor ($3.20). The cheapest places for gas in Michigan were in Benton Harbor ($3.15), Jackson ($3.17) and Traverse City ($3.18).
