Microsoft Moving to Detroit One Campus Martius

"Historic announcement affecting the future of downtown Detroit" expected Friday morning

(Updated) DETROIT, MI — Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert announced Friday that software giant Microsoft Corp. is moving its offices to downtown Detroit’s One Campus Martius, according to media reports.

Gilbert’s real estate company, Bedrock, said Thursday a “historic announcement affecting the future of downtown Detroit” would be announced, but didn’t provide details. Bedrock received a permit to the $72,000 renovation of the 10th floor of One Campus Martius, the former Compuware Building.

Microsoft, billionaire Bill Gates’ Redmond, Washington-based technology company, said earlier this month it might move some of its employees in Southfield to a Gilbert building, but didn’t specify One Campus Martius.
