Model and Actress Teresa Alvarez makes Top 10 in Miss JetSet Model Search
Miss Jet Set Model Search
Detroit native, model and actress Teresa Alvarez is one of Michigan's rising stars. The former Detroit Tigers Energy Squad dancer and University of Michigan graduate is one of the Midwest's top models. Chances are that you've seen her on television in several commercials, on several billboards in downtown Detroit as the spokesmodel for Invisalign for Detroit Orthodontic Specialists, or you've seen her in the Pure Michigan magazine or Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazines in the U By Kotex ads. Well, now you will see her in Arizona as she graces the red carpet at the 2017 Miss Jet Set Model Search party. As a top 10 finalist for the Midwest group, Teresa has been invited to attend the celebrity event.
The Miss Jet Set model search is a vote based competition where the winner is selected based on votes. The more votes you receive, the further you go in the competition. Voters can also buy votes that help benefit the B+ Foundation, an organization that provides assistance to the families of kids fighting cancer. Ms. Alvarez didn't know what to expect when she entered the competition.
"There are so many girls all over the world competing in the competition and they are so gorgeous. I never thought that so many people would vote for me, but they did and I'm grateful. To be in the Top 10 is a huge accomplishment especially with this being my first time ever entering the contest. Many other girls have tried for years and still haven't been able to make it into the Top 10."

Alvarez is also a spokesmodel and product specialist for Ford and travels most of the year with the Ford team to the different auto shows around the country.
"The Miss Jet Set hangar party is October 7, 2017 in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is perfect for me as it is right before auto show season begins. I'm looking forward to meeting all of the other contestants. My goal was to make Top 10, and I did just that. It would be nice to win, but one thing I've learned by being in the modeling and acting industry is that winning isn't everything, but catching the director's eye can take you a long way. I'm only 5'5" tall and I'm sure many people never thought that I would be as successful as I have been in this industry but I have beat out several 5'9" tall girls for commercials and print model work."

I asked Teresa what her next steps are and she replied, "I have to find a gorgeous dress for the red carpet!"
