More Than 200K Still Without Power In Metro Detroit Area
Here's when DTE says a majority of Metro Detroit customers should have power restored.
METRO DETROIT — More than 200,000 DTE customers in the Metro Detroit area were still without power Wednesday morning after Monday's storms swept through the state.
The utility said 80 percent of its customers in the metro area should their power back on by the end of Thursday, as crews begin pouring in from other Midwestern states. DTE called up line workers from Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Overall, the utility said there's over 2,000 linemen working to restore power.
By the end of the day Friday, DTE said 95 percent of customers should have their power back on. Some residents who lost power may be eligible for a credit on their next utility bill.

More than 260,000 people in the metro area lost power after 70 miles per hour winds ripped through, knocking down over 3,300 power lines.
