More Severe Storms Possible Amid Hot, Humid Temps: Metro Detroit Weather

More severe storms are possible across the Detroit area Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The strong storms will likely cross the region sometime after 2 p.m. when highs climb toward 90 degrees with sweltering humidity levels, according to NWS.

The storms will be capable of heavy downpours, large hail and winds reaching up to 70 miles per hour, according to NWS.

The entire region is under a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather Thursday.

The storm threat comes just hours after severe storms rolled through the area and knocked out power to nearly 100,000 DTE Energy customers in the region.

More showers and storms are possible across metro Detroit on Friday, though forecasters are not expecting any severe weather.

The stormy weather finally moves out of the region by the weekend, which will see highs in the 70s with plenty of sunshine, according to NWS.
