A 19-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on a freeway near Detroit Metro Airport Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.
ROMULUS, MI — A 19-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on a freeway near Detroit Metro Airport Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers said two motorcycles were speeding on westbound Interstate 94 near Merriman Road in Romulus at 11:30 p.m. when one of the riders lost control and struck a concrete wall.
The rider was then thrown off the bike and hit a light pole, according to police.

Troopers said the rider was killed in the crash.
"We want to remind motorcycle operators to drive responsibly," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "It is important to know your riding abilities, wear a helmet and drive the speed limit when operating a motorcycle. It will help prevent crashes like this one."
