SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Temperatures across Michigan can set record highs along with chances for rain this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs across southeastern Michigan are expected to reach the mid 40s Wednesday before climbing into the 50s and possibly breaking records highs, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will reach 53 degrees Thursday before widespread rain moves into southeastern Michigan and covers most of the area by 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters don't expect the rain to be heavy and that it should move out of the area pretty quickly, according to the National Weather Service.

Any lingering rain showers in southeastern Michigan should fizzle away by Friday afternoon as temperatures climb to 57 degrees, just shy of the record, according to the National Weather Service.

Another chance for rain across southeastern Michigan comes after midnight Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will fall back down into the upper 30s and low 40s this weekend across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday: Sunny/Rain; High 53, Low 47

Friday: Sunny/Rain; High 57, Low 41

Saturday: Sunny; High 49, Low 33

Sunday: Cloudy; High 41, Low 30
