New Cocktail Bar Opening In Downtown Detroit
The small bar will only have eight tables and 55 seats to help facilitate intimate experiences, organizers said.
DETROIT — A new cocktail lounge is planning to open in downtown Detroit sometime this spring, according to a news release.
Saksey's, the new bar that promises to be "Detroit's most intimate room," will open at 1550 Woodward Avenue, in the lower level of Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop, which is a high-end sports bar created by the Gilbert family in honor of their late son, Nick Gilbert.
Visitors will walk through an alleyway to enter the bar, which boasts a "cozy" atmosphere with a contemporary room that features a nostalgic feeling. The bar's design has a heavy focus on wood, refined lighting and "adventurous patterns," organizers said.

The bar also plans to host live performances, and will host for private rentals on weekdays, organizers said.
Organizers did not announce the exact opening dates for Saksey’s, Gilly’s Clubhouse and Gilly’s Rooftop, only noting that they'll open sometime this spring.
"Saksey's is designed to provide an experience that connects people," leader of 7OH2 Hospitality Josh Lang said. "I want guests to come in, try a little of everything on the menu, sit back and spend time with the people they love. Intimacy is a product of those you share it with. This room is built for intimate moments."
