New Standard Cannabis Welcomes Dajuan Holbrook as VP of Retail

(October, 5 2020 - Hazel Park, MI -) New Standard, a cannabis provisioning center opening its flagship location in April of this year, welcomes Dajuan Holbrook as Vice President of Retail. Holbrook joined New Standard in September of 2020 bringing more than 15 years of retail development experience both in the US and internationally.

Most recently, Holbrook worked as a district director for Eddie Bauer Michigan. Prior, Holbrook was a director and country manager for Abercrombie & Fitch, Guess, and All Saints in Canada building both their retail industry brands and store chains throughout the country.

“I was born and raised in Detroit. This is home,” said Holbrook. “After spending several years in Canada, it was time to come home and be with family. New Standard is truly doing something innovative in the cannabis industry. I’m excited to be a part of the team and see the growth that is already happening as we take the lead in cannabis retail. New Standard has embraced me as family.”

Holbrook’s new role is his first in the cannabis industry, but he has seen firsthand the benefits of medical cannabis use.

“My sister in law was diagnosed with brain cancer six years ago,” said Holbrook. “Cannabis has changed her life. Her experience opened my eyes to cannabis. I began to learn more about this wonderful plant and the research behind how it’s working and changing the lives of people with serious medical conditions. That started my passion and interest in cannabis.”

As VP of Retail, Holbrook hopes to continue to bring diversity to the New Standard retail experience. “We represent the variety of strains in cannabis just like the variety in our team-members, and that means we can also evolve with our customer base to welcome newcomers to cannabis. We’re going to continue to channel that difference to create that exclusive experience.”

Chase Kushak, New Standard COO, is looking forward to seeing Holbrook’s expertise take the cannabis retail experience to a new level.
