Look Up! The Northern Lights Are Possible In Michigan Tonight

Michiganders in some parts of the state will have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights overnight. Here's the best time to see them.

MICHIGAN — Michiganders in the northern parts of the state may be able to see the Northern Lights Monday night and early Tuesday.

Although the Upper Peninsula and the northern Michigan are the best places to see the lights, it's possible they could reach down to as far as metro Detroit between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center.

While skies will be cloudy over Metro Detroit and most of Michigan, there's a chance they could thin out, giving some a decent chance to the spectacular natural phenomenon, according to the National Weather Service.
