Nurses Can Receive Free Care Packages
Nurses Inspire Nurses encourages nurses to sign-up for a free care package online; donations for packages being accepted.

Plymouth, Mich. - When the rest of the country goes into isolation, nurses go to work. Nurses Inspire Nurses today announced the organization will donate its time to assemble and distribute hundreds of care packages for nurses across metro Detroit.
Nurses Inspire Nurses, a national movement to give nurses a safe place to receive support and inspiration from others in their profession, also will begin taking donations effective immediately to assemble care packages for nurses in the Detroit-area. The organization made a donation of items for initial care packages, and members of the organization will donate their time to help assemble them.
“I cried in my car yesterday because I feel the weight of our entire community on my shoulders,” said Cat Golden, BSN, founder of Nurses Inspire Nurses and Nine Lives Health & Mind. “But I am going to do everything in my power to make sure we can offer support to as many nurses as possible. Nurses do not have the luxury of calling in sick or refusing someone care, even when there aren't enough masks or equipment to protect themselves. They deserve the best.”

Care packages will be filled with snacks and other goodies to help nurses through their shifts. Each package is expected to look a little different, but the goal is the same: To deliver a ray of sunshine to each nurse who receives one and a ‘Thank You’ to this group of indispensable professionals. Importantly, every basket will be made with love.
Golden hopes to expand the program beyond the Detroit-area as donations are received.
