Over 13K Without Power In Metro Detroit
Strong winds from a powerful winter storm knocked out power to over 13,000 DTE Energy customers in the metro Detroit area.
METRO DETROIT — More than 13,000 DTE Energy customers across metro Detroit were without power Friday afternoon due to high winds from a powerful winter storm.
The largest outages were north of Interstate 69 in Lapeer County. The largest outages in the metro Detroit area were in Dearborn Heights, Detroit and Hamtramck. There were also spotty outages across Oakland County, including Novi.
The utility said most of the outages should be turned back on sometime Friday.

Forecasters warned the metro Detroit area would see strong winds with guests reaching up to 50 miles per hour Friday. The area remains under a winter storm warning until 4 a.m. Saturday.
