Police Investigating After Shot Fired At Wayne State University

Police believe the shot was fired during a dispute between people who knew each other.

DETROIT — Police are investigating after a shot was fired in a Wayne State University campus dorm Tuesday night, according to officials.

Police said the shot was fired just before 10 p.m. at Chatworth Suites on campus. They believe the incident happened during a dispute between people who knew each other. Officials ordered a shelter in place, which has since been lifted.

It was unclear how many people were involved in the shooting or if there were any injuries. Officials said everyone involved left the building after the shot was fired. They did recover a gun.
