DETROIT — A popular Detroit clothing brand opened a new store Wednesday.

Detroit vs. Everybody opened a new storefront at 44 W. Columbia St. in The District Detroit (downtown Detroit). In addition, the first 20 customers were each given gift cards and the store offered 40 percent off from the 11 a.m. through 3:13 p.m.

The store, owned and founded Tommey Walker, is known for selling hoodies, sweatshirts and other items with the tagline, "Detroit vs. Everybody," which has become a global brand.

The opening comes after the store's original location inside the Del Bene Building at 2501 Russell St. collapsed in September, damaging several vehicles. Jabs Gym, Beyond Juice, Brooklyn Outdoor and j'adore Detroit were also inside the building.

The building was originally slated for demolition, but officials have since said construction crews can repair the building.
