Staff said the building's landlord refused to give them a new lease.

DETROIT — A popular Detroit ice cream shop is closing down in August after seven years.

Cold Truth, located in the Cass Corridor, is closed down on Aug. 30 after staff said their landlord refused to give them a new lease, staff said in a social media post.

Staff said they have been operating without a lease for the past two years, and now were told to vacate their spot at 4240 Cass Ave Ste 100 by Aug. 31.

"This is a devastating blow as this location serves as the heart of our operation and we are currently trying to figure out what the future holds for Cold Truth," staff said in the post.

They asked anyone who knows of any opportunities, such as a stand-alone or permanent pop-up, to contact them.
